MCA-Pro-Leu-Ala-Nva-Dap(DNP)-Ala-Arg-NH2 is a fluorogenic substrate for zinc-dependent matrix metalloprotease 2 (MMP-2). MMP-2 (aka Fibroblast gelatinase, gelatinase A) is a type IV collagenase with an important role in breakdown of the extracellular matrix. It has also been implicated in cancer cell invasion and angiogenesis.

Activity is quantified by fluorescence (Ex 325 nm, Em at 393 nm).
