Hepatitis C Virus NS3 Protease Substrate, fluorogenic is used as a substrate of the NS3 protease. Hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS3 protease promotes virus maturation by cleavage of the viral polypeptide. The Ac-EEVVAC-AMC can be used to screen for inhibitors of the NS3 protease by monitoring release of fluorescent AMC.
Activity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380 nm and emits at 440-460 nm.
