Angiotensin II is a peptide hormone that is a powerful vasoconstrictor, a regulator of blood pressure and may also affect adipogenesis and adipocyte metabolism. It is involved in hypertenision, heart failure, diabetes and other diseases. Inhibitors of angiotensin II biosynthesis and its action are widely used to treat hypertension and congestive heart failure.
