GRGDS is a cell binding protein domain derived from the cell-binding region of fibronectin. Osteopontin uses this motif for cell adhesion. This peptide includes the RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) sequence found in many extracellular matrix adhesive proteins. GRGDS is a synthetic antagonist of integrin function and competitively inhibits direct fibroblast binding to fibronectin.
