Sheep polyclonal antibody in serum. This antibody recognizes the alpha isoform of diacylglycerol kinase (DGK). DGK catalyzes a reaction terminating the protein kinase C mediated signaling by converting diacylglycerol (DAG) to phosphatidic acid (PA), a signaling lipid which is involved in DNA synthesis, phospholipid synthesis, and regulation of several enzymes.
Diacylglycerol (DAG) is an intermediate in phospholipid synthesis which functions as an allosteric activator of protein kinase C (PKC). The alpha isoform is a type I DGKs, slightly different calcium-responsiveness.
Storage
Store at 4 °C for up to 30 days. Aliquot and store at -20 °C if longer storage is necessary. Antibody is stable for at least 2 years when stored at -20 °C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
