PE Lipid Microparticles, NBD are beads with attached phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and NBD. The headgroups are exposed and available for biological interactions. Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) is primarily found in the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane and plays a role in cell signaling, membrane structure and fluidity.
Technical Notes:
- Total lipid concentration is approximately 1 μmol per 1 mg particles.
- Trace amounts of a fluorescent lipid are embedded in the particles. NBD has maximal excitation/emission at approximately 460/540 nm.
- Particle comprised of a silica core and is 3 μm.
