Autotaxin (ATX) Screening Service

The Autotaxin (ATX) Screening Service uses the ATX Sandwich ELISA (cat # K-5600) to quantify ATX in biological samples. ATX is a widely expressed, secreted glycoprotein that is found in high levels in serum. The enzyme has been implicated in a number of diseases including cancer, obesity, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease and neuropathic pain.

  • Echelon has 25 years of ELISA expertise and 15 years experience in the ATX field.
  • Your samples are cataloged and stored according to your requirements.
  • The Autotaxin Screening Service will run each sample in duplicate.
  • Results are provided as an average of duplicate points in ng/mL ATX.
  • Usually, results are provided 2 weeks from receipt of samples. We can accommodate tighter schedules if needed.

Description

Assay Details

ATX level is quantified using the ATX Sandwich ELISA (cat # K-5600). The ELISA is a robust quantitative immunoassay designed for in vitro measurement of ATX levels in human biological fluids or cell culture supernatant. The concentration of ATX in the sample is determined using a standard curve of known amounts of human ATX.

Assay Range: 1.56 – 100 ng/mL
Minimal Detectable Dose (MDD): 3.21 ng/mL ATX.
Inter Assay CV: 3-9%
Intra Assay CV: 3-15% (3-6% for most sample types – (Refer to K-5600 TDS Assay Note #3).

Sample Considerations

The ATX Sandwich ELISA Assay Service has been tested for the quantification of ATX in human serum, plasma and ovarian ascites samples. Serum and plasma show similar basal levels of ATX (Refer to K-5600 TDS Assay Note #3).

Sample amount: 50 μL/sample is required.

Sample Type: Serum, Plasma, Ovarian Ascites

Expanded Sample Type: May include cell culture supernatant (serum free media required, or include a cell free media sample with serum as background control), urine, and other biological fluids. More volume of sample may be required for expanded sample types.

Species of samples: The assay is human specific. Rat and mouse serum samples tested with lower ATX responses.

Storage and shipment of samples:

  • Freeze all samples before shipping and ship on 3-5 lbs of dry ice, if possible.
  • If samples cannot be frozen, use leakproof caps and vials.
  • Label vials well. If vials leak, the solution can remove poor labeling.
  • Please ensure all shipments containing human tissue or fluids are appropriately labeled as biohazard and packaged to prevent leakage during transport.
  • Contact your service coordinator and let them know the samples are on their way.

Cost

Standard pricing is for each sample to be ran in duplicate wells. This means that 20 samples = 40 assay wells. If you need to run greater or fewer samples, contact us for pricing. If you want your samples ran in singlet or triplicate, let us know! We will adjust pricing.
