PtdInsPns compounds are employed as substrates for kinases, phosphatases and binding proteins as described in many publications. 5C-PtdIns(5)P is resistant to enzymatic hydrolysis at the 5-position and may demonstrate unique biological function due to the varied chemical structure compared to the natural analog. 5C-PtdIns(5)P showed similar affinity for the tumor suppressor protein ING2 as PtdIns(5)P and augmented cell death induced by a DNA double-strand break in HT1080 cells. |
