— Inositolhexaphosphate Kinase 1 (IP6K1) catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate from ATP to inositolhexakisphosphate (IP6) generating the product 5 diphosphoinositol (1,2,3,4,6) pentakisphosphate (IP7). IP6K1 has also been shown to catalyze the reverse reaction (in vitro) in which a phosphate is transferred from IP7 to ADP generating ATP.
