| Description: |
—In this enzyme coupled assay, phosphatidylcholine is cleaved by Phospholipase D to produce choline and phosphatidic acid. Choline is oxidized by choline oxidase to betain producing hydrogen peroxide. DAOS plus 4-Aminoantipyrine (4 AAP) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase results in the oxidative coupling of DAOS and 4 AAP to form a blue chromogen that is measured by absorbance at 595 nm1.
—Experiments have shown the Phosphatidylcholine Assay Kit can detect phosphatidylcholine at concentrations of 17 ug/mL using a reaction time of 4 hours.
—The kit is designed to quantify PC of 40 samples ran in duplicate.
