The TRUEFRETTM phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase or PI3-K TR-FRET assay is a great choice for pharmaceutical drug discovery screening. Echelon has incorporated TRUEFRETTM dyes into its proprietary PI3-K screening regents and assay platforms. The PI3-K assay is competitive with the enzymatic product, PI(3,4,5)P3, competing with a fluorescent PI(3,4,5)P3 tracer for binding to a specific Tb-conjugated binding protein.
