Phosphoinositides are synthesized from naturally-occurring chiral precursors. The inositol head groups are derived from methyl a-D-glucopyranoside via a Ferrier rearrangement; the diacylglyceryl moieties are prepared from (+)-isopropylideneglycerol. Each compound is provided as a lyophilized powder as the sodium salt. Ammonium salts are also available on request as a custom order at the same price. The isomeric purity is >95% for the phosphate position(s) indicated. Long chain phosphoinositides, including our di-C16 fatty acid products whose product numbers end in 16, are quite insoluble in aqueous solutions and may require vortex mixing, brief water-bath sonication, heating and/or addtion of some organic solvent for complete dissolution. Our diC8 products, whose product numbers end in 08, are soluble in water at 1mg/ml.
